Thursday Seminar: Francesco Del Galdo

Title : Dissecting the role of innate immunity in the pathogenesis of tissue fibrosis Bio: Francesco Del Galdo is Susan Cheney Professor of Experimental Medicine. He graduated in Italy and completed his PhD and postdoctoral studies in the Scleroderma Centre of Thomas Jefferson University, in Philadelphia, PA. In 2009 he moved to UK to found and lead the Raynaud’s and Scleroderma Programme in the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre of the University of Leeds. The Scleroderma Programme in Leeds is a large, patient centred translational research programme with research spanning from basic aspects of the pathogenesis of Systemic Sclerosis to biomarkers led precision medicine and early intervention for the prevention of internal organ complications of the disease.
